FAQ

Do you have a shop in UAE/Kuwait/Qatar… (any other country)?

At the moment we do not have a retail store. Our workshop is located in Lebanon where we produce our delicacies and sell them online almost anywhere in the world. Shipment and
delivery are managed by DHL who are directly integrated to our website, so you
will be able to see the shipping cost before making any payment, and track your
order from the moment it is picked up from our workshop.

How long does it takefor the product to arrive to UAE/Qatar/Kuwait… (GCC)?

We usually take a few days for production, depending on the size of the order and our pipeline, the average would be three days. DHL then takes a day or two to pick up and ship the product, then another day or two for clearance and delivery to your doorstep.

Please note that transit times exclude any uncontrollable delays such as flight cancellations, public holidays, high season peaks, and exclude delays at destination due to customs/clearance process. We have so far been operating within these transit
times without any noticeable exceptions.

Are other forms of currency accepted?

Currently, to ensure consistency and simplicity in payment processes across various regions we maintain a universal currency policy across all our customers. All payments are accepted in US dollars (USD) for all our products. Therefore, at this moment we do not accept other forms of currency.

What is the cost of shipping?

Our website is directly integrated with DHL, and the shipping cost is automatically
calculated upon checkout depending on the size and weight of the order. Please
feel free to add the products you wish to order in your cart, and fill in your
address upon check out, and the cost will be automatically published, before
any payment is made.

Any additional costs associated with shipping the products?

Additional import duty/tax might apply depending on each country’s laws, in addition to a fixed service fee by DHL for clearance.

How do products fare in shipping?

Our boxes are made of 2mm thick cardboard with lamination, and are wrapped with bubble paper from the outside when shipped. On the inside, our marzipan pieces are placed carefully, wrapped with paper, and then wrapped with bubble paper again from the inside, so that no movement occurs when the box is handled and sent to shipping. With all these measures taken we have thankfully never had any complaints about the products’ status upon arrival 😊

Are proper hygienic measures taken? Do you wear gloves during production?

We are very keen on food safety, and while our artisans do not wear gloves during the forming
stages of production (while the dough is still raw), they do follow very strict hygiene and sanitary measures, and wear their hair nets at all times. Once the product is baked under high temperature, it is always handled with gloves thereafter.

What’s the shelf life of the product and how do we preserve it?

Our products are best enjoyed fresh, but when preserved correctly they can last for more than a month. They just need to be kept in an air-sealed environment, in a cool and dry place (no fridge).

How long does it take to make the Marzipans?

On average there is about 2-4 days to prepare the order from scratch, this is mainly due to the time it takes to rest the dough before handcrafting the miniatures by hand, petal by petal for the flowers, before finally baking and resting one final time before packing.

What are the products made of? Is it halal? Is it vegan? Is it glutenfree? Is it lactose free? Does it contain flour? Etc.

Our dough is strictly made from highest grade almonds and powder sugar. Coconut sugar is used instead for our brown flowers, and Matcha powder is added for our green flowers. All of which are traditionally mixed and made with rose water. Hence, it is halal, vegan, gluten free, lactose free, and does not include any additives or preservatives. The dough is then formed by hand into Lena’s signature floral miniatures, or filled with either of our range of dried fruits including dates, pistachio, dried orange peel, dried bitter orange (bou Sfeir), dried strawberries, dried cranberries, qamar al-din, or dates. The semi-finished product is then baked in the oven for a short time, until its slightly crispy on the outside while staying soft and smooth on the inside.

Where are you located?

We currently do not have a retail shop yet. We operate from our workshop in Bsalim – Lebanon through deliveries and takeaways only.

Do you accommodate for bulk/custom orders? Events? Special occasions?

We do accommodate for large orders, events or special occasions. However, an order should be placed ahead of time (the bigger the order, the more advanced time will be needed for production).
